YAY FRIDAY!

Ldphotocontest ****Please send your photos to service@luckydogbiscuits.com and put "photo contest"in the subject. Winners will be announced weekly starting JUNE 4th.**** Check out the nominees so far in the "Lucky Nominees" photo album. GOOD LUCK!

I'm not going to lie to you. I've been going for power walks for the past two weeks four mornings a week....and I haven't been taking my dogs. I did try once to take one of them, Ruben, but it was a constant fight and everyone just ends up in a sour mood at the end of it. No good. HOWEVER, I am pleased to report that we took BOTH DOGS and all went excellent. WOOOOHOOOO!

It's absolutely beautiful here in Winnipeg this morning. We went for a walk through Assiniboine Park, next to the Zoo even with very well behaved and manageable dogs. Our secret were new halti type apparati. They're called New Trix. We've had them for about 18 months but never used them. We always hoped that one day Ruben and Calvin would just get it (or more like we'd get it)and they'd walk peacefully beside us. We don't walk them on leashes very much because of this, we take them to off leash dog parks pretty much every day. Not sure if you're familiar with Vizslas. They're Super lovedovey and when you, just you, are hanging around the house, they make like potatoes on couches. However, they are also SUPER FREAKIN ENERGETIC when outside or when we have visitors. Oh they're funny. When we have visitors, the living room turns in to a full WWE ring and its a show! SO to actually get them to walk beside Kal and I for a 5 mile walk was a huge achievement! The New Trix are really nice, they go over the nose but you attach the leash at the back of their head. They can pull a tiny bit but NOTHING compared to a typical walk/fight with these guys. Check it out. Now we're all getting good excessive and I'm feeling much better!

Response to Questions

Kal - "what's the hardest thing - or the biggest stumbling block you've encountered with teaching people about the benefits of good food?"

Hard to say. I've never been adamant about trying to convince people of trying other options until now. I've certainly discussed it tons with different people but they just can't wrap their head around the fact that the Kibbles and Bits might actually harm their dog rather than provide all the bouncy energy the commercials say it does. It does take most people under most circumstances, a long while to under all the years of "only feed your dog dog food" advertising and marketing and recommendations from some Vets and most Breeders to feed this kibble or that kibble. That's some 60 years of lots of marketing dollars to go against. A recent article in Newsweek on feeding your dog fresh food said that we've evolved how we think and care for our dogs over the years, they're a part of the family and we'll do most anything for their health and comfort BUT surprisingly, we still feed them the brown mystery food out of a bag. Right Now is not most circumstances. A global recall on hundreds of food for poor quality ingredients is finally starting to unravel all those marketing dollars. And its good.

Thanks Shayla! We thing Cash is pretty cute too!

We will be looking for Lucky Dog Ambassadors from across the Country soon! Selected Ambassadors will have there own spot on the Lucky Dog Blog to tell us about all kinds of good stuff! Stay tuned!

Have a great weekend everyone! We're out!
