I'm back online THANK GOODNESS!! I was enjoying my renewed internet freedom yesterday when I came across Lucky Dog Biscuits in the content of a blog called 100% ShenaniGans.
The author of this blog thought it would be fun to try some dog biscuits and named the posts LMizzle Don't Eat it! She tried Milk Bone Soft and Chewy treats, Bonez dog biscuits and Lucky Dog Biscuits and offered to try Science Diet wet puppy food, Science Dient dry dog food and Eukanuba dry dog food. This is a VERY BRAVE WOMAN! Now I KNOW the Lucky Dog Biscuits are safe, they are made with 100% people quality ingredients, we eat them ourselves all the time, especially straight out of the oven YUM YUM YUM!! I might however suggest a TETANUS SHOT for the Milk Bones and any of those dog foods. That's CRAZY!! Not only is that stuff super gross (and I apologize to anyone that may feed this to their dogs, but it is) it's certainly not people quality and these brands of food were on the recall list. In fact, one woman got really really sick eating her dog's food. Apparently her dog food was some of the melamine tainted food recalled and it made here foam at the mouth! People, DO NOT EAT your dog's food unless it is 100% people quality. On the side of the Lucky Dog Biscuits package, we actually say "try one yourself" and the point we're making is you can feel 100% safe about feeding these biscuits to your dog because they are such good quality, YOU could even eat them. The product also says GUARANTEED and we mean it. If you dog doesn't like them, take them back but we do suggest you try a different flavour. Lucky Dog Biscuits have more flavour than any other natural, healthy biscuit on the market and sometimes dogs are a little taken back at first. For instance BBQ Chicken and Sweet Potato has the mildest flavour and Two Cheese Pizza has the strongest flavour. And by healthy, I mean they aren't full of sugar or salt, neither of which your dog needs. You'd be surprised how many dog biscuits have sugar and it's often the first or second ingredient too. Unless you're brushing your dog's teeth everyday... even if you are, you're not doing your dog any favours by feeding them biscuits with tons of sugar, even if they like them.
Unfortunately the biscuits didn't get the best review from LMizzle, in fact I think she related them to cheese and grass. Two Cheese Pizza are my personal favorite but if you're going to try Lucky Dog Biscuits yourself for the flavour, I recommend the Peanut Butter and Saskatoon Berry ones. We know people who buy them for themselves! Actually, we know people buy themselves the Cheddar Cheese and Roasted Garlic too.
If you do feel inspired to try Lucky Dog Biscuits, please keep in mind that while they are PACKED with amazing people quality ingredients and lots of them, they aren't packed with salt or sugar, which we people are pretty used to eating. No matter what, you can feel safe about feeding Lucky Dog Biscuits to your dog, and very VERY few foods and treats can make this claim.
By the way, the 100% Shenanigans blog is hilarious and and excellent source of pug blogs, and we love pugs!
Have a great weekend!
Bonnie
