Good Morning Lucky Doggers!
Thank you for your encouragement for Calvin. He's a funny funny dog. I can't remember if I mentioned it but since he got the splint on two weeks ago, he stopped using that leg at all. Totally stopped. The reason he got the split 4 weeks after he broke his leg is because they surgically implanted a metal plate and seven screws to hold the bones together. Guess if you have something that high-test on the inside, theoretically you don't need a cast on the outside. But then if you're TIGGER, or the bouncy bouncy dog equivalent, perhaps you do! He was putting some weight on it over the first four weeks and he looked amazing but apparently it was too much. Anyhow, splint went on and putting weight on it stopped. It kind of freed him. Instead of trying to force his lame leg to work, he forgot about the leg entirely and ran full tilt with this big tourquoise battering ram it out front like he was a jousting superstar. NOW, the splint is off but he's holding onto the jousting superstar roll. He looks fu-nny running with no splint but his leg extended WAY OUT in front of him. He puts it down to eat but that's it. Is this psychological? ploy for attention? pain? (he's pretty cool about you feeling all over his leg and bending it). I'm not sure how to get him to put it down and try to walk like normal. hmmm. funny dog.
I thought I'd share these pictures we received of Daisy Strange. Daisy has the good fortune of living in Winnipeg so her peeps bake her frozen cookie dough..
Daisy politely requesting her people GET BAKING!
Daisy getting what she wants...
Daisy says "Thank you!" or maybe its "More Please!"
Yes, I guess it's "More Please!" What dog do you know says "oh no no I couldn't possibly eat another, have you seen the size of my tum tum?!"
Daisy, you look faaaaabulous , snack on!
Have a great day!
Bonnie
